Bachelorette Fun!!

During my summer holiday back home, not only did I have an awesome time with family and friends, but I also managed to touch down in the mother city, Cape Town, in time for my gorgeous friend Kerry's bachelorette party and wedding. As one of the bridesmaids, I also got to be behind the scenes for this epic event and what a privilege and honour, thanks Kez.

The bachelorette was just tons of fun, thanks to Courtney, Ingrid and Kerith who were part of Team Bride! The party was hosted at Cafe Chic in downtown, Cape Town. We went with a Gossip Girl School theme. Everyone, including Kerry's granny, rocked up dressed to the theme: in school uniform.  We played games in the creative form of school lessons, some only for the bride-to-be and others for the whole class.

History: Kerry had to answer questions about her hubby-to-be (he had filled the answers for us already), such as the name of his first pet, how old he was when he had his first kiss or is he a wine or whisky guy?

Speech and Drama: We played Charades where the bride-to-be had to act out the words on the cards for the rest of the class.

Science: The bride-to-be had to use blue and red cocktail mix to get the perfect shade or purple and serve the class drinks

Geography: Since the couple had planned a beach side honeymoon in Bali, we wanted to test the bride to see how well prepared she was for the trip by asking questions about their destination like how to say I love you in Balinese.

Home economics: This class doubled as dessert. The class had a cup cake decorating competition. The bride-to-be was tasked with deciding which design would be closest to good enough to display at the wedding.

The evening was a blast and continued when we hit the streets to join the bachelor party and for Kerry to complete her scavenger hunt which included:

  • kissing a bald mans head
  • finding someone to propose to her
  • finding someone to call her fiance and tell him how lucky he is to be marrying her
  • finding someone to practice walking down the aisle

Here are more photos of the epic night - some photos courtesy of Kerith :)
